DPS Breaks Ground for Stapleton School

Denver Public Schools broke ground Thursday on a $19 million K-8 school in northeast Denver.

The school, slated to open in August 2006, is expected to total 105,000 square feet and house up to 750 students. The building is the second of five schools planned for the Stapleton redevelopment area and comes at no cost to DPS.

The district is working in collaboration with the Denver Urban Renewal Authority and Forest City Stapleton Inc. Stapleton is donating the land and DURA is funding the construction costs.
