RTD Central Park Station Area Plan Public Meeting

City and County of DenverPublic Announcement from the City and County of Denver:

Central Park Station Area Plan Public Meeting

June 29, 2011 5:30 p.m. – 7:00 p.m.

Renaissance Denver Hotel

3801 Quebec Avenue

You are invited to participate in the first public meeting for the Central Park Station Area Plan on June 29, 2011 from 5:30pm to 7:00pm at the Renaissance Denver Hotel, 3801 Quebec Avenue.

This public meeting will help establish the needed vision and principles to direct the planning process for the area surrounding the planned Stapleton Transit Facility located near the intersection of Unita Street and Smith Road. The transit facility includes one of six stations on the East Commuter Rail Line, which is scheduled to begin operations between Denver Union Station to Denver International Airport in 2016.

A majority of the station area is within the boundaries of the Stapleton Development Plan, commonly known as the “Green Book”. Since the adoption of the Green Book in 1995, the station area has been intended to become a walkable, transit-oriented neighborhood serving as Stapleton’s portal to the regional transit network. The goal of this planning effort is to provide a framework to direct future development and infrastructure around the transit station in a manner that capitalizes on the area’s access to transit by creating vibrant urban places. The plan will identify a plan vision and principles consistent with the Stapleton Green Book, the Transit Oriented Development Strategic Plan, and Blueprint Denver, as well as develop plan concepts to achieve the community vision for the area.
