Central Park Recreation Center
The 57,000 square foot Central Park Recreation Center, located in Stapleton at the eastern end of Central Park, is one of 27 Denver Parks and Recreation centers offering recreational opportunities to residents of all ages. Below are facility highlights (information provided by Denver Parks and Rec, and is subject to change).
Pools and Pool Party Room
The activity pool includes a zero depth entry, pee wee slide, and fun spray features in addition to the lazy river. A 4-lane lap pool with high drop slide offers features for all ages and accessibility groups. The pool party room will host parties for any age. The west wall looks out to a view of Central park, Westerly Creek, and the Rocky Mountains, and the outdoor pool deck offers a place to relax and soak in the sun.
Gymnasium (Basketball and Volleyball Courts)
A collegiate basketball court (NCAA regulation size) with two cross courts for informal play which will allow for multiple activities to be programmed simultaneously. The rims can be lowered for pee wee level (ages 5-8) play. 2 court volleyball systems can be set up as well.
Cardio Room (upper level) and Weight Room (lower level)
The Cardio Room Includes 3 stair climbers, 2 rowers, 6 upright bikes, 6 recumbent bikes, 12 treadmills, and 12 ellipticals. The fitness area offers great views to the west, Central Park, Westerly Creek, and the Rocky Mountains. Downstairs, the weight room offers stretching area, circuit training, free weights, and fitness stations. Also includes great views to the west, Central Park, Westerly Creek, and the Rocky Mountains.
Family Lounge (upper level)
Family space with comfortable furniture offering views of the natatorium (pool area) and gymnasium. A Wii system is available at scheduled times.
Fitness Room (lower level)
Classes such as aerobics, dance, yoga, Pilates, boot camp, and other fitness classes are offerein the firness room.
Spin Room (lower level)
Room dedicated to spin classes, includes 16 LeMond bikes and a state of the art sound system.
Kid Watch
Denver's first dedicated child care area within a rec center. This dedicated space will allow for drop-in child care for center users for a nominal fee - it includes secured outdoor play area. Ages: 6 months to 6 years old. Fee: 1 child, $7.00, 43.00 for each additional child. Time: Max 2 hours.
Community Room
The large community room is ADA accessible with a room divider to accommodate 2 smaller rooms. An outdoor terrace is available with great views of the Rockies and Central Park.
Catering Kitchen
The warming kitchen is available for an additional fee, with rental of the community room or party room. The kitchen includes two refrigerators, two ovens, and a microwave and other warming options.
West Entrance Grand Staircase
This view of the historic Stapleton Tower offers an incredible look at the Rocky Mountains and a reminder of Denver's past. Lounge area provides a place to gather before or after your bike ride on Denver's renowned network of bike paths.
